Supporting Team UK for WorldSkills 2019
17th May 2019

Pervade Software were honoured to be able to assist Kyle Woodward, a student at the National Cyber Security Academy at University of South Wales, with his preparations and training for being part of WorldSkills 2019 in Kazan, Russia where the team will face challenges in Cybersecurity Incident Response, Digital Forensic Investigations and Application Security.

Kyle Woodward, recently won the UK National round of a global cyber competition. That competition forms part of WorldSkills 2019 which will take place in Kazan, Russia on 22-27 August 2019. The 45th WorldSkills Competition, which is run every two years hosted by different Nations each time, will bring together more than 1,600 young professionals representing more than 60 countries who will compete in 56 skills which are grouped into 6 Sectors including ICT. The event will be held at the KAZAN EXPO International Exhibition Centre where more than 1,500 Experts will evaluate the Competitors' performance (see www.worldskills2019.com for more information).

Kyle and his team-mate Adrian battled their way through Local, Regional and National competition stages to gain their seat on the plane to Russia along with 30 other people of Team UK and they are now cramming in some serious training for this opportunity to shoot for Gold Medals in this event which has been dubbed the “Vocational Olympics“.

It is fantastic to have a Welsh competitor in the Cyber Security Team for this Global Competition and this is a fantastic opportunity for a brave young Welsh cyberist to compete on a global stage and demonstrate how the unique combination of Academic and Business support offered by the National Cyber Security Academy is producing world leaders in multi-skilled cyber security.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish Kyle and Adrian the best of luck in the competition!
